What do you think of it/this?

I for one I'm in the middle of road of this. Since the author of this one and are a lot alike when it comes to this. But then I have had my fair share of them. I mean with the multi ones and especially for the ones made for women.

Think thats it for now.

Thank you, again, in advance.

Yours truly,

We have a board, Health, Somatics, and Psychological Well Being, with a number of threads about health, vitamins, and supplements. I do not consider myself an expert on vitamins and supplements, and leave that arena to others who probably are asleep right now.

I think this is a great service for people who are in a situation that require help with not just picking the vitamins best for them, but also making it easy to track what should be taken each day.

In the long term it's really important that we have a diet that supplies our body naturally with all these vitamins and minerals. Chemically produced vitamins are not as health for us than the real thing, based on my research. But it's important to get body running in a healthy state, so vitamins are great for that, until you have found the right diet to take over the process of taking vitamins.

For vegetarians or vegans, it is sometimes important to take Omega 3 long term, if they have no source of food for their diet to cover this. Algae is actually an alternative to fish oil, for Omega 3, it's just not always a very cheap option, so even if a person is a vegetarian or vegan, they don't have to have fish oil.

I had some orthomolecular medicine training a while back but I've gone more holistic, so I forgot a lot.<:)

Just a few notes from what comes to my mind while brainstorming wildly:

The problem is that lots of our produced veggies and fruit nowadays have lost lots of vitamins and minerals as compared to decades ago. (And on the other side have more bad stuff in them).

Going organic and local with your supplies is therefore key.

It is vital to check the source of your vitamin pills and minerals and to not take synthetic ones. Of course it is best to get it all from your diet. Vitamin D might be needed in less sunny areas or times. Take it together with magnesium for best effects.

If you take supplements for vitamins & minerals and other essentials (zinc, selen, ubichinon, etc.) in a combination like they also are in Nature is the best solution. They work best in combination and not taken isolated.

Just vitamins and minerals is not enough. Omega 3 was already mentioned - good for anti-oxidation and for the brain. It can also be found in plant-based diets if you look for it. For meat eaters fish oil is of course the best and most simple solution.

Also take also stuff for your microbiome, such as lactobacilli, etc. And then also take tumeric / curcumin for your gut and for many other health benefits (e.g. anti-depression!). Take plant-based bitter compounds in e.g. dandelion, gentian, artemisia, artichoke. Mary/holy thistle is the best for your liver still.

As I used to be into mycotherapy you can also try the wonderful health benfits of medical mushrooms such as Reishi, etc., they also contain all the 'good stuff' including many of the SPC (see below).

There is more and more research done with so-called 'secondary plant compounds' which come mostly from the defencive substances of the plant, e.g. flavonoids, phenolics, terpenoids and many more. They might one day turn out to be even as important as vitamins for our health and well-being. Many are already proven in studies as being anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidation, etc....
