Also, Bert can correct me - I believe in 2021, Germany took down 23 of their 24 coal fired power plants. Most were demolished, some were simply mothballed and all workers laid off.
That's a lot of capacity that is critical now.
People like me who are tech proficient and NOT woke in California, knew this long ago, but here's another data point.

That's in addition to range anxiety. In fact, around 35% of first-time Tesla buyers return their cars during the first 3 months of ownership.
And.. to add to the stupidity... in CA:
-last week, they legislated all-electric cars by 2035.
THEN guess what...
due to abnormally hot heat wave (yeah, I'm in it, its baking hot, lol)...
the CA grid dictates that all e-cars don't charge due to potential for blackouts (i.e., green energy sucks and we do not have iota capacity)
SO.... CA is mirroring Germany and EU.
Add: Energy cost shocks..
