Hello all.

Just wanted to create a sticky for this board. Many have been asking about what crystals they have and while it is my pleasure to give you the info from what sources I have, I ask for you to do the following:

When taking a photo it is best to use natural light which is best by taking the photo of the crystal outside. The reason being because inside light has a hue to it and the crystal can also be influenced by its surrounding which can make it difficult to identify the proper color and other properties.

Also don't put a photo filter or edit the photo. This again makes identifying harder. In person I can help identify much easier but as we are from all over the world that just cannot happen so photos are a must.

By making sure you do those two things it will help out so much. I do not want to give you wrong information, because with many crystals having such similarities it could be easy for anyone to give wrong information. It also takes time to go through and get the information so please be patient as I am getting you everything you need to work with your crystal babies.

Thank you. Many blessings ✨

Thank you so much Kristy! That was great to know to use natural light when taking photos! :)

I'm also sorry my pictures posted twice. One day I will stop being a techno bimbo and learn how to actually use my devices... :)|:rolleyes: xxx
Lois

That is angelite

It is one of the "stones of awareness"

I'm actually going to be writing about it in an upcoming thread about the top Angel crystals.

Kristy, a friend gave me this crystal rock and we can't find out what it is. It was found in Wyoming. Can you please let me know what you think it might be?

Vickie cam you do me a favor. Tomorrow outside in the sun can you take these photos again. Placing it on a white piece of paper would be helpful too. And if you can make a short video and send it to me. I want to be certain it is what I think it is but I want to verify it with a geologist friend of mine.

Absolutely! I am so curious about it. I've searched a lot and I just am clueless. It's really beautiful. Thanks so much!

Kristy, I can't upload a video in the forum. I can only link to videos already online like YouTube videos. I did get some pictures outside though. If you can't find what the crystal is then don't worry about it. I have searched high and low. I first thought it was calcite but it's not really shiny like calcite and I can't find anything close on the Internet. A friend has a ranch in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming and he found it on his land. Here are better pictures and thanks so much for your help.

It may be celestite. I read that when celestite is compressed it becomes angelite. Although the piece has so much green in it so I'm not sure. Also, it has all the beautiful colors of green, turquoise and dark blue on it and I can't find a single piece of celestite with those colors on it. Here's a piece of celestite

Oh Vickie i meant to tell you I sent the photos to my friend and he told me what it was. Sorry I got busy getting some stuff together. But what he told me it this:

There is some Azurite and Malachite on it and he said it may be fluorite.

I am also asking another friend of mine who goes out and digs and sells. I am waiting to see what he says

What part of Wyoming did he find it? I just found a source that if I knew the location I can narrow it down on this list.

My other friend said it may be chrysoprase.

I really want to verify it by this list though which I think will give us the answer and for your friend too.

Ok Vickie

So what I just heard was the azurite and malachite (which already knew) and that the bigger chunk is silica. And when I looked that up comparing to what you have it looked the closest. I also compared it to rough fluorite which was close too but I think silica would be the closest I'm going with until you find out what part of Wyoming. Then I can look at that list and really tell you

It does look a lot like florite with azurite and malachite on it! Chrysoprase is possible but it's not as green as chrysoprase. I've texted my friend that brought it to me and I'll let you know where exactly is was found as soon as he replies. Thanks so much for going to so much trouble.

Kristy, my friend found old Indian teepee rings in the area. He said that when a tribe moved they picked up their tents and folded them but they usually left the teepee rings that held the tent down. When they first setup camp they find special rocks and crystals to place around the tents for protection and healing. This piece was found right next to an old teepee ring.

He found it near Wheatland, Wyoming. That's the south east part of the state.

I guess we posted at the same time. I didn't see your post about silica until just now. It looks like the piece of fluorite that I have but I can't say for sure. I'll look up silica and see what that looks like.

Here is a little article about silica.
I was curious about it once I saw the stone.
My celestite stones are more of a cool blue color.
I agree about the malachite and azurite.
Good identification.
Lovely gift.
Thanks, Krena! I read your article and I agree. Kristy did a great job identifying it. Thank you, Kristy. It sure looks a lot like florite but it is definitely silica. I am surprised it could be identified at all. Great job.

Hi, my guess is that it is aquamarine with a matrix speckled with azurite and malachite which are copper based minerals found in that area. google rough aquamarine and see if it will look like any of those pictured!
