# About this EPUB

This book is about to finding important research into how glyphosate affects the body, and removing the hysteria and fake news surrounding glyphosate. All this research was done by one person, the authora and took many hours.
# Introduction
This is a collection of studies showing how glyphosate, the active
ingredient in Roundup pesticide, affects many metabolic pathways in
humans, including interfering with the creation of neurotransmitters.
The process of a substance binding up another chemical is called "chelation".
Here are some more defintions:
1. A method of removing certain heavy metals from the bloodstream, used
especially in treating lead or mercury poisoning.
2. A controversial treatment for arteriosclerosis that attempts to remove
calcium deposits from the inner walls of the coronary arteries.
3. Chelation is a type of bonding of ions and molecules to metal ions. It
involves the formation or presence of two or more separate coordinate
bonds between a polydentate ligand and a single central atom. Usually
these ligands are organic compounds, and are called chelants, chelators,
chelating agents, or sequestering agents.[^definechelation]
## A bit about glyphosate
1. It was once used to clean metal pipes.
2. It is an isopropylamine salt.
2. It was invented in Switzerland in 1950 and first synthesized by Monsanto in 1970.[^glyithaca]
3. Roundup is formulated to get glyphosate into every cell of a plant.
This is how glyphosate interrupts the Shikimate pathway in plant cells.
Thus, Roundup cannot be washed off like other pesticides.
3. In plants, glyphosate interrupts the Shikimate pathway so the plant
can no longer make energy. Mammals do not have the Shikimate pathway but
there is mounting evidence that glyphosate harms other life also. One way
it harms life is by locking up minerals so neither food crops, nor humans,
can use them.
4. Many crops are sprayed with Roundup, a formulation of glyphosate and
other chemicals, in order to kill the harvest all at the same time. This
"increases yield", even though some parts of the crop may not be totally
ripe at the time of spraying. 2 days later, the crop is harvested.
5. Monsanto's US patent expired in 2000.
6. Glyphosate is poorly absorbed from the digestive tract and is largely
excreted unchanged by mammals. Ten days after treatment there were only
minute amounts in the tissues of rats fed glyphosate for three

Thus, glyphosate exposure interrupts many enzyme functions in many places
in the body, causing a myriad of subtle disorders. And there are studies that
show there is Roundup in human and animal food. There are more studies

# How common are GMO crops?

3. Other GMO crops: eggplant, sugar beets, wheat, millet, cassava, rice.
Most crops of corn, wheat, and soy are sprayed with Roundup at harvest
time. Two days later they are dead and harvested.
Non-GMO crops are not always safe either. They are also sprayed with
Roundup on a regular basis to kill the whole crop at once at harvest time,
and "increase yields". GMO crops are simply changed in some ways. Some
GMO crops are "Roundup Resistant" and are called RR crops. They can be
sprayed with Roundup several times per growing season and the Roundup
will not kill the crop, but it will kill the weeds around the crop.

Any product made from a crop sprayed with Roundup is a problem.
## What are ingredients made from wheat?
Wheat, starch (made from wheat), vegetable protein (from wheat), wheat protein. There are others.
## What are ingredients made from corn?
Corn, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, anything with the word "corn" or
"maize" in it, corn sweetener. Lots of the time "glucose" a form or sugar,
is made from corn.
## What is "starch" or "food starch" or "modifided food starch" made of?
It can be made from corn or wheat. In Canada the nutritional label
must show the source of the starch, like "wheat starch". In the US this is
not required but some US companies still show the source of the starch on
the food label.
Almost all medications in pill form contain corn starch. Corn starch is
used as a filler.
## Glyphosate is found in human food and urine
Here are some studies which found glyphosate in food, or glyphosate or
metabolites (AMPA) in human urine. This shows we are consuming
glyphosate on a regular basis.

Now that we can see how often glyphosate is used on food crops, and people are eating glyphosate, let's see the effects of when certain vitamins are not available for the human body to use.
# The Rise of depression and anxiety
Millennials are reporting higher rates of anxiety and depression but
there are many factors tha feed into this depression. Anxiety is highly
correllated with depression, they tend to be together.

But parenting and psychological factors also play a role in how Millennials

But, in my opinion, the lack of the body's access to vitamins in the
first place, can prevent clear thinking and thus prevent people from
being realistic, and developing coping skills that actually work.
**Theory:** glyphosate is locking up vitamins and minerals so the body
can no longer use them, resulting in nutritional deficiencies, which results
in more depression and anxiety symptoms.
Now if we look at all the people who have symptoms of depression and
anxiety, and compare those to nutritial deficiencies, a more clear
picture starts to emerge.
## Vitamin and mineral deficiency symptoms
Now that we can see that glyphosate locks up vitamins and minerals the
body cannot access, what happens when the body can't get these vitamins
and minerals? What are the symptoms? As you read through the symptoms
of various vitamin deficiencies notice all the neurological problems, like
anxiety and depression, that result from these deficiencies.
Major (macro) minerals are: Calcium, Chloride, Magnesium, Phosphorus,
Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, and Sulfur.

## B6 deficiency
B6 is also known as pyridoxine.

Vitamin B6 deficiency is more common in people with liver, kidney,
digestive or autoimmune diseases, as well as smokers, obese people,
alcoholics and pregnant women. More recently, it’s been found that B6 has
antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This means that it may play
a role in helping prevent chronic conditions like heart disease and cancer.
1. Skin rashes. Low B6 can be a factor in seborrheic dermatitis. Rash has an oily, flaky appearance.
2. Cheilosis, which are red cracked and sore lips. Deficiencies of riboflavin, folate, iron and other nutrients can also cause this condition, as can sunny, dry or windy weather and other external factors.
3. Sore, glossy tongue. Tonue may be sore, smooth, inflamed, red, or swollen.
4. Mood changes like depression, anxiety, irritability, and decreased pain resistance.
Try 50-80mg of B6 daily to help this.
5. Weakened immune function. B6 helps in production of antibodies and directs actions of white blood cells.
6. Fatigue. Even if you get enough sleep you might still feel tired. Try supplementing with this form of B6: pyridoxal 5’-phosphate (PLP).
7. Unexplained tingling in hands or feed.
8. Seizures.
9. High Homocysteine Homocysteine is a byproduct created during protein
digestion. A B6 deficiency, as well as folate and B12, can result in an
abnormally high blood level of homocysteine, as these B vitamins are
needed to help process homocysteine. ncreased homocysteine levels have
been linked with several health issues, most notably heart disease and
stroke, as well as Alzheimer’s disease. When homocysteine is elevated, it
can damage blood vessels and nerves.

## B12 deficiency
B12 is also called cobalamin.

* Pernicious anemia, which makes it hard for your body to absorb vitamin B12

You can also get vitamin B12 deficiency if you follow a vegan diet
(meaning you don't eat any animal products, including meat, milk, cheese,
and eggs) or you are a vegetarian who doesn't eat enough eggs or dairy
products to meet your vitamin B12 needs. In both of those cases, you can
add fortified foods to your diet or take supplements to meet this need.

doctor to run a blood test to check your levels.
You can barely stay awake in the afternoon—even if you slept 8 hours.
"Fatigue is one of the first signs of B12 deficiency," says Lisa Cimperman, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Other symptoms:
1. A feeling of pins and needles in the hands or feet.
2. You forget someone's name or you forget where you put things.
3. You feel wobbly or dizzy.
4. Your skin looks pale.
5. Your tongue is smooth and red. Burning or soreness on the tongue is also reported. A person may lose weight becasue food no longer tastes good.
6. Anxiety. Every little thing makes you cry or worried.
7. In very bad cases, low B12 can cause blurry vision, double vision, a shadow in your eye, sensitivity to light or even vision loss when the problem affects the optic nerve.

## Cobalt deficiency
1. Cobalt, and B12, is responsible for red blood cell formation.
2. It aids in the performance of the nervous system. Thus a deficiency
will show symptoms as neurological symptoms (memory problems, problems
concentrating, moodiness, etc).

## Copper deficiency
Copper deficiency is also known as hypocupremia, copper transport disease,
Kinky Hair syndrome, Menkes disease, Steely Hair syndrome, and X-linked copper
deficiency.
Some symptoms are: anemia, frequent infections due to low white blood
cell count. Weakness, numbness in hands and feed, general weakness in
body, inadequate neurotransmitters, like reduced dopamine, which will
reduce feelings of pleasure/fun or understanding rewards, brittle bones,
blood vessel weakness and heart abnormalities, hair appears sparse,
steely, tangled, or kinky, failure to thrive in children, face may appear
pudgy with rosy cheeks and sagging skin, developmental delay in kids,

We here describe two patients who presented with severe gait
abnormalities (walking problems) and anemia combined with neutropenia several years after
roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery for obesity who were found to be
severely copper deficient. Intravenous copper repletion resulted in the
rapid correction of hematologic indices; combined intravenous and oral
copper supplementation and eventual oral copper supplements alone
normalized serum copper levels in each patient but resulted in only
partial resolution of the neurologic deficits.

## Magnesium deficiency

Magnesium deficiency, also known as hypomagnesemia, is an often
overlooked health problem.
While less than 2% of Americans have been estimated to experience
magnesium deficiency, one study suggests that up to 75% are not meeting
their recommended intake.
1. Muscle twitches or cramps. In worst cases there may be seizures or convulsions.
2. Mental disorders like apathy (emotional numbness or lack of emotions), depression, anxiety.
3. Osteoporisis, or brittle bones. Brittle bones break more easily.
4. Fatigue and muscle weakness (myasthenia) and also mental exhaustion.
5. High blood pressure.
6. Asthma. An inhaler with magnesium sulfate is sometimes given to people with severe asthma. Evidence for the effectiveness of dietary magnesium supplements in asthmatic individuals is inconsistent.
7. Irregular heartbeat. It is not uncommon for children to have an irregular heartbeat and it eventually goes away. People may also have heart palpitations which are pauses between heartbeats. Other symptoms are lightheadedness, shortness of breath, chest pain or fainting.
8. Irritability. Taking a product called Calm, which has magnesium in it, has treated irritability in some people.

# What's the solution?
Do not eat glyphosate or factory-farmed foods from large mega-corporations.
These are often sold in chain stores.
Eat from local CSA farms, or other local organic farms. Ask if they use Roundup
at harvest time. If they do, avoid then at all costs.
