Song is titled "A Winter's Tale" (Wintermärchen). It's about a guy who asks the thrush bird why she does not fly south in the winter like many other birds of passage do and instead bears all the cold and harsh weather, etc. The bird then answers: 'Those who wander after the sun restlessly from country to country have never truly recognized the silent radiance dwelling in their own chest.'

Yeah. Love this kind of music. Touches the soul like nothing else and leads you into the past, the roots or to any fairy(tale)land and whatever higher vibration astral/dreamscape of your choosing.
The Cree are my fav musicians among the Native Americans. This is more or less the same 'song' across 43 minutes. Good for getting into trance or some unusual 'tribal background' music if you browse the internet.

Awesome performance, she's a real cowbell pro. And it's no easy playing this.
Moreover, although I'm no Bavarian I really like girls wearing traditional Dirndls! Shame I've never been to Munich during Octoberfest were you see masses of folk in lederhosen and dirndls. Awesome sight.
As I watch the world around me, it becomes very clear why we are all here at this time. Somehow the craziness makes it easier to hold my vibration and intentions high... Having some moments of clarity and peace in the eye of the hurricane. This just seemed like a fitting song today.

I was surprised or almost 'shocked' to find out recently that this great Canadian band (unlike Rush and a few others) is virtually unknown world-wide and only successful (according to wiki) in Germany and Puerto Rico. They were really big in my country, esp. in teh 80ies, but ongoing.
Gosh, did not know that they had only successs here. Their songs are real Classics for me, had several vinyl records and CDs. Like Rush they are a Progressive Rock band but also with some Charts and Mainstream ambitions.
As said, here are the songs that are really 'classics' for me since the 80ies, did/do you really not know them, PG (don't remember you posted Saga before although you did so many Classic rock things)?
The first two live vids show they are still up to it even today, singer's voice is also still great. Indeed they mostly tour in Germany nowadays:

Saga was very well liked here (western Canada), but not worshiped like Rush. I think they weren't marketed well. They were presented as "Canada's answer to Pink Floyd", which wasn't the right target audience. Good band... Wished I had seen them, but never had the chance.
I agree with One65. I'd forgotten about them. They were a great band IMO but never really cracked the bigtime. It was said they were more popular in Europe then here for some reason. It was probably a combo of poor marketing and not a lot of airplay on radio. I know the band well. I think it was a case of too much electronics/techno and not enough rock for the period and our tastes. I gotta listen to them again. It's been a while.
After listening to the above tracks. I remeber better now. I used to love their sound. Sorta like a progressive rock sound not unlike Yes. Maybe a little to progressive for the average Canuck. Back then most here were into a big heavy guitar sound. Even Yes and ELP had a large audience but never a "superstar" stance. My kinda music but not so much for the main streams simpler tastes. I'm not surprised they were bigger over there.

Yes, it can be intriguing how so many artists (and others) can best be appreciated by folks who are not in their hometown or even country while to others their hometown is their lifeblood of support.

Still planning to see Saga this year. I have a buddy I go to concerts to 1 or 2 times per year. Hope til end of June the ghost of Corona will be gone at least somewhat so that concerts are a thing again and we will be able to go to their Gig near my hometown.
Genesis with good old Phil Collins are also coming next year to my country it seems, looking forward to that a bit although a reunion of the 'vintage' team with Gabriel and Hackett would have been greater. So now only we have Phil's son drumming who also did this on the solo tour since his Dad has lots of health (spine) problems and can only sing nowadays. It's sad because he has not the brilliance of his father on drums and also Phil seems to lack energy in his vocal and stage performances due to age/health. Wanted to post a live vid from his solo tour but it looks (and sounds) all really too bad for me. He is just sitting in a chair and sometimes doe not even seem to enjoy himself. Maybe he should not have come back at all? So I might be rethinking the Genesis concert. Anyway, in the meantime, here some good older Collins and Genesis live stuff instead, this one being one of the most significant drum fills in history:

Officially it is an album that consists of mashups from the individual Beatles' solo careers after 1970. So even with out a parallel universe theory it could have been a kind of a 'future' Beatles album if they had stayed together and put their ideas together in songs indeed. E.g. you clearly hear McCartney's "Jet" in the song "Jen".
Speaking of future music and in memory of F. Schneider who recently passed away. Here's the classic band that sounded like future in 1978 like they still do today. I guess they will still say this in 30 years. They will 'always' be 'future music'.
They also invented a genre, kind of. And they influenced almost all genres with their music (even rock, not just electronic, techno or hiphop) and are said to be the most sampled band in music history.
The only kind of Transhumanism I really like actually.

I could hear ABC Auto Industry over and over again without getting bored any time.
