Hi everyone! Can anyone help me identify these? They were sold to me as purple Fluorite, and I tried searching and it seems that opalized Fluorite is opaque, but I am not quite sure if these really are Fluorite. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Funny, I just got some fluorite wands myself and was looking at them just prior to seeing this posting so I have the patterns 'in my mind's eye' so to speak. From that, for what it's worth, I see some patterns in your beautiful (stunning!) crystals which look
very fluorite-like, for example, the top of the first pic and most of the third.
Then there are spots that look opaque and remind me of marble, or, as you say, probably opalized (that makes the most sense with what I understand of the process of changing rock in relation to condition changes; in this case water coming in and getting incorporated into a crystal so that opal is formed). Great examples in your crystals include the bottom half of the first pic and pretty much the entire second pic.
Now for the disclaimer; you are holding these in your own hands and holding them up to the light to see if light shines through them/if they're opaque, turning them around to look at them in various light and other conditions. I am not. You have far more information and senses working at this, so I'd go with your gut to a large extent and I love what you came up with, though I've never seen it before in one stone like that first one. Amazing!
