The orange one in middle looks like citrine. You are right about amethyst.

I got quite a few rocks and crystals when my mother brought them home from her classroom and I need help identifying them. Some I think might be amethyst or fluorite. One of the green ones I think could be calcite, but I'm not sure on any of them.

Your multicolored stone is peacock ore.

Pastelbat, I agree that I see what looks like quite a few pieces of calcium in different colours with probably fluorite and amethyst too.
I agree about the citrine and peacock ore. Both are beautiful stones.
The big green one could be aventurine? It's a bit tough to tell in the photo.
I wonder what the black one is?

Hi everyone! Can anyone help me identify these? They were sold to me as purple Fluorite, and I tried searching and it seems that opalized Fluorite is opaque, but I am not quite sure if these really are Fluorite. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Funny, I just got some fluorite wands myself and was looking at them just prior to seeing this posting so I have the patterns 'in my mind's eye' so to speak. From that, for what it's worth, I see some patterns in your beautiful (stunning!) crystals which look very fluorite-like, for example, the top of the first pic and most of the third.
Then there are spots that look opaque and remind me of marble, or, as you say, probably opalized (that makes the most sense with what I understand of the process of changing rock in relation to condition changes; in this case water coming in and getting incorporated into a crystal so that opal is formed). Great examples in your crystals include the bottom half of the first pic and pretty much the entire second pic.

Now for the disclaimer; you are holding these in your own hands and holding them up to the light to see if light shines through them/if they're opaque, turning them around to look at them in various light and other conditions. I am not. You have far more information and senses working at this, so I'd go with your gut to a large extent and I love what you came up with, though I've never seen it before in one stone like that first one. Amazing!

I believe these are all quartzite. The colors are due to the presence of various minerals. Red indicates iron oxide. They look tumbled or rounded from water or waves on a lakeshore. Quartz is clear, whereas quartzsite is milky in appearance.

If there is shine when placed in light I'd consider moonstone, though that would be a considerably rarer find.

I can almost imagine how soothing they'd feel to roll in my hands.

Looks chalky like limestone. I do not know what this is.

Tiffany stone can have that hue of purple.
That would be a real find if it was.
Not really sure.

My sons found this whilst playing out and they are trying to work out if it’s glass or a crystal. We’ve tried looking on the internet but struggling to find anything similar so we were hoping someone here may be able to help us.

Oh my gosh that's really a beautiful and enigmatic piece! My guess would be that it's glass slag, no telling how old, though. Any glassworks nearby?

It's beautiful tamarasaur; those colours!
The way the colours mix and my sense of it agrees with what Maryann said above.
Obsidian is often called 'volcanic glass' but I have never heard of any such a bright blue colour. It can have various colours in it, even a rainbow, but with obsidian the colours are usually more muted; more of a sheen.

- Lack of incisions and impurities
- The "crystal" stays rather warm as opposed to my other pieces of Quartz (But it's a big chunk)
- There seems to be some bubble-like things trapped inside

Could anyone maybe shed some light on this?

I don't have much experience with fake crystals though I have heard they are around.
What you say about the warmth differing from your other quartz would certainly make me wonder.
I think this would be a tougher one to do via pictures than just identifying stones as having the 'feel' of the stone would be a real factor, as you point out.

That first one initially reminded me a lot of an 'apache gem silica' which I just got with a bunch of stones in it: chrysocolla, goethite, shattukite + cuprite; so lots of colors. When I noticed how shiny those colors are i realized that it is more likely to be ammolite; a very beautiful stone IMO.

The ones below I would guess are fluorites wtih those colorful streaks!

Those look like quartzes with inclusions of all kinds of stuff; probably mostly iron oxides considering the colour. I think I see glints of amethyst too.

Those little gems are the epitome of crystals in terms of glowing, sparkling colour

Either way that looks to me like mostly quartz glinting with iron oxides.
