"Tip your server. Return your shopping card. Pick up a piece of trash. Hold the door for the person behind you. Ler someone into your lane. Small acts can have a ripple effects. That's how we change the world!"

"A caring society of the future will remove the conditions responsible for greed, envy, hate, revenge, and other undesirable human emotions. In a resource-based economy, when people no longer live in fear of losing their jobs or being insecure in old age, and when they have access to things that were not available to them in a monetary system, then love will not be merely a word, but a way of life. When humans learn to live in harmony with nature and with one another, then spirituality will be a way of life rather than just empty talk. In a more sophisticated and humane society emotions would be harnessed and expressed in appropriate behaviours or action patterns."

- Jacque Fresco (1916 - 2017)

The practice of meditation gives you a greater "now" presence, which means you are more likely to become aware of all inputs/outputs at the blink of an instant when it happens. In a way, it's almost like slowing down time enough to start to see what's happening around you.
That's right, but combining that with exercises on identifying and stopping aspects of ego controlling our actions and reactions, that is where the real work comes in! This also helps to see if you need to focus on certain events in the past for healing.

That's why StarTrek Discovery chose the plot element of a 'Mycelial Network' as a grid to be used for the 'Spore Drive' and thereby to replace and improve on the Warp Drive engine/pathways. (Not that I recommend that show, by no means).

By the way the largest living organism on Earth is indeed a humongous fungus called Armillaria Ostoyae.

Fittingly, my local meditation group did the 3 Brains guidance meditation this week (as one of our members is a Kinesiologist, a healer, and she also does EFT Tapping). We often do 3 Brains, as it gives us the reminder that the body's intelligence is not all brain-centred, but is heart-centred and gut-centred as well (and gives you 3 different types of "awareness" or "Brain/Heart/Gut" logic from which to get a better grasp of your problem/issue).

For those who've never heard of this type of guidance/meditation, after centring, start off by asking yourself a question about something happy in your life. First you ask your brain, then your heart, then your gut the same question. Just be open to what words pop up on your mental screen as answers to this question. Once you have this in operation, (in other words, having shown to yourself that your Brain/Heart/Gut is open and activated) then ask yourself your question that you wish to seek guidance about.

The answers you get won't be a whole treatise. It will just be a couple of words, or expressing a feeling in words, that comes from the viewpoint of either your brain (logic), heart (feelings) or gut (grounded knowing).

The local example we had was:

"Why do I feel so fatigued?" Brain answer: having to attend 12 hour shifts as a prison officer, it's a very wearing job.

"Why do I feel so fatigued?" Heart answer: You need to love yourself more to allow more balance into your life.

"Why do I feel so fatigued?" Gut answer: Do more wading at the pool, drink less coffee, and drink more energising teas.
