Around April 18, the crypto market took a plunge because of bitcoin going down.

Clif High predicted this crash in one of his videos earlier in the year, but I can't remember when he said it would do after the crash in terms of the timing. Does anyone recall what he predicted here? How low would it get and when did he think it would come up again? Now may be a good time to invest unless BTC will go down lower and lower...

Why is it crashing?

As reported from, thetimes.co.uk
  • Donald Trump described bitcoin as a “scam”because it is competing against the dollar.
  • FBI agents have seized millions of dollars in bitcoin from criminals, prompting its price to slide by 8%.
  • Last month, the price of bitcoin dropped off a cliff after Elon Musk announced that his electric car company Tesla would no longer be accepting cryptocurrency payments. He expressed concerns in a Tweet on May 13 that cryptocurrency was coming at a cost to the environment.
  • Some banks have blocked payments to crypto exchanges. Starling Bank temporarily stopped its customers from transferring money to cryptocurrency exchanges because of concerns about criminal activity. The suspension will lift on June 23. People can still use their Starling debit card to make payments.
So the question is, when will it start going back up?

I personally don't believe it will go back up.
I've heard it's directly connected to human /child trafficking and a lot of deep state funding and such.
They have bitcoin mines under the 3 gorge dam in China. It uses ridiculous amounts of energy too.
Bitcoin is done.

Crypto is the way of the future, it will definitely rise again.

Many cryptos can be used in that way and are pseudonymous. It just happens BTC is the most popular so that's why it's in the news more.

I didn't say crypto would fall. I just personally think bitcoin is going down.

My .02 worth. I've intuited that once Bitcoin got going well the powers that be somehow infiltrated into the Bitcoin eco-system and have subverted it to their own purposes. Now there is some kind of war going on behind the scenes in the Bitcoin world. BTC has gotten hammered recently while Etherum has done relatively well. In general though what happens with Bitcoin affects the whole crypto space. Smaller tokens, many with a questionable value basis, are just whipped about in the fray.

I found Trump's statement the other day interesting. He didn't dump on crypto generally but Bitcoin specifically. From that I take it may be an indication that Bitcoin is being manipulated by the 'baddies' and to stay away so you don't get hurt when it is exposed.

I am a believer in Holo for which the HOT token is in place until their network is ready for use of HoloFuel. HOT is very subject to market whims and is much like other alt-coins. Wild swings, wild growth, rapid declines. HoloFuel is much less of a currency than HOT and is expected to be much more stable. We'll see.

As to Bitcoin I anticipate it will suffer the same fate as most early stars in any nascent industry. It will decline into large irrelevance or find a niche use somewhere. Gen 2 or 3 competitors will create a better tool to solve real problems. I do not expect Bitcoin to remain dominant. Separate from normal market forces it also now appears to be being fought over for various ideological perspectives and that will undermine any focus or investment to correct underlying design flaws.

As to when this occurs, I feel Bitcoin will begin losing support in earnest once the ongoing transformation we are all experiencing comes to some kind of breaking point. After that, all bets are off.

I'm glad I got out of Bitcoin. I still have some XRP and DOGE. They are my only hope right now to get a larger normal-sized house. But they have to go up a lot for that to happen.

therium I hope you still have your XRP! Wow, it's been getting good news lately. I sold my XRP years ago, but used the proceeds to buy other rising digital assets.

After reading through this thread, I can see that the MSM did real damage to people's perceptions. And, of course, the debanking that we just found out about a couple days ago on the Joe Rogan/Marc Andreessen podcast. Everything makes so much sense now. Digital assets were choked off illegally by the Feds and dark politicians like Elizabeth Warren.

Blackrock snuck in and swept up as much as possible before announcing publicly that they were pro-Bitcoin. Now all of Wall Street is piling in, but we still see no coverage on MSM. Not one family member mentioned Bitcoin at our thanksgiving table this year. Some young people understand that a transfer of wealth is happening right now from Boomers to Gen Z through Bitcoin and others, but most folks keep believing that it's a bubble. Or that it's only used by the black market (never mind the anonymity of cash...) My favorite disinfo theory for Bitcoin is that it's created by DARPA. Which no one has been able to provide a shred of evidence on, but it sounds very convincing. A great deterrent to keep freedom fighters from jumping in.

My new take is that Bitcoin was trafficked back in time to do exactly what it's doing now: exposing the death of an empire through fiat currencies and giving the populace a chance to take back ownership of their own property rather than trusted third parties like banks. Chase, Wells Fargo, BofA, etc. will absolutely will debank anyone who goes against their agenda.

Kevin C , we talked about Fed coin along time ago. Now that Trump is back in the office, so to speak, we may see game theory play out globally. If Bitcoin is or will be infiltrated, it is my opinion that it will happen in one of two ways: either through a state-controlled stablecoin (possibly Tether) or through keeping people herded into state-controlled apps like Robinhood, Venmo, Paypal. Whitney Webb and Mark Goodwin have done some chilling but good journalism on this. I personally know a few people holding their digital assets on these apps--which is yet another form of fractional banking and not really ownership of the coins.

I'm curious what other folks here think about the coming bull market and the changes we will see.

Moonseal I actually lost all my XRP and DOGE because I kept it on an exchange, and the exchange went bust.

US markets are responding positively to the results of the US election. I hear San Francisco passed a new law by the voters to make sure to prosecute anyone stealing and to lower greatly the threshold for stealing.

I've been buying XRP for the last 3 months or so. I tripled my money in it.

It's quite the learning curve. I also lost some funds during one of the collapses. I'll never do that again (keep funds out of my own control).

Pucksterguy That's great! I'm wondering if there is additional news that we haven't heard yet on XRP.

I was wondering if it might replace Swift as a settlement tool? I don't know much about that but do remember when XRP was testing cross chain settlement many years ago. It was very exciting!

Nobody wants a weaponized dollar anymore...
Did you see what Trump put out about BRICS?

"The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER. We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy. They can go find another “sucker!” There is no chance that the BRICS will replace the U.S. Dollar in International Trade, and any Country that tries should wave goodbye to America."

-Trump

Perhaps he will find a way to strengthen the USD by backing it with something rather than backing it with oil and threats? We are in a new era. Wouldn't that be amazing.

He knows the score. I think the above is merely bluster and a negotiation point. Everyone has moved away from a weaponized dollar. It won't happen again.
